Fabrication of Ti3SiC2-SiC max phase composites via in-situ and ex-situ synthesis
Recently, a series of three-component compounds with the combination of Mn+1AXn known as Max phases have been considered as a new material. One of the most important features of Max phases, is the self-healing property of them. The main reason for considering Max Phases is a unique collection of unusual properties including their metallic, ceramic, physical, and mechanical properties. One of th...
متن کاملIntegrating Ex situ and In situ Conservation of Lemurs
Site-based and cross-regional habitat and species conservation e!orts in Madagascar, such as proposed in the previous chapters of this Lemur Conservation Strategy, should always be the main focus of lemur conservation. However, with many wild lemur populations rapidly declining and their habitat being lost at constantly high rates, captive assurance colonies are becoming increasingly important,...
متن کاملEfficient Reduction of CO2 to CO with High Current Density Using in Situ or ex Situ Prepared Bi-Based Materials
The development of inexpensive electrocatalysts that can promote the reduction of CO2 to CO with high selectivity, efficiency, and large current densities is an important step on the path to renewable production of liquid carbon-based fuels. While precious metals such as gold and silver have historically been the most active cathode materials for CO2 reduction, the price of these materials prec...
متن کاملVisualizing 3D objects from 2D cross sectional images displayed in-situ versus ex-situ.
The present research investigates how mental visualization of a 3D object from 2D cross sectional images is influenced by displacing the images from the source object, as is customary in medical imaging. Three experiments were conducted to assess people's ability to integrate spatial information over a series of cross sectional images in order to visualize an object posed in 3D space. Participa...
متن کاملCarbon riveted Pt/C catalyst with high stability prepared by in situ carbonized glucose.
Carbon riveted Pt/C catalyst was designed and prepared by in situ carbonized glucose in this paper. Characterization results show that carbon riveted Pt/C prevents Pt nanoparticles from coalescence. Its stability is markedly enhanced due to the anchoring effect of the carbon layers formed during the carbon riveting process.
